Valentine's day card for you!

February, 2012

Dear Partners,

Sending out Valentine cards, we thought of YOU and how special you are to us! You have a wonderful way of opening your heart and life to us and to those behind prison walls. Men and women are being impacted by the Good News of Jesus, but the enemy wants them to think it’s too good to be true.

Verse after verse of the Bible tells us about God’s great love for each person. Our favorite is found in Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Prisoners have trouble believing that God loves them. Often their concept of Him is not accurate--they’ve “made up” Who they “think” He is, having spent many years living independently of Him. Pray their hearts will be seeking and open to God, that they will know the truth and the truth will set them free! (John 8:32)

They need your continued prayers to keep learning to turn their focus from themselves and their problems, to God and His power to help, strengthen and guide them daily. Pray they choose to trust Him, then practice trusting Him, showing others a changed life.

You have a part in this process. A friend shared with us about her experience in praying for our prison family:

“Today I was looking back through all the emails I hadn't read yet and yours was one of them. It was such a blessing for me to read it and to pray through every person you wrote about. Just before sitting down behind my computer, I had asked God to speak to me and show me where he wants to use me. I had an amazing time interceding for them with God listening! I know that every one of those prisoners are so loved by God.”

Please accept our thanks—we value your prayers, encouragement and gifts. Your caring in this way keeps us where God has called us to be--in prison!

Somebody loves you! Let your heart be His home.

Con mucho amor, (With much love)

Carl and Kathy
