The enemy NEVER sleeps!

We had a one-on-one visit setup with one of our faithfuls who is in the hole for what seems to be a misunderstanding. These visits are via the video camera and they had "electronic problems", so I was not able to see him. We were going to celebrate with this young man his two year anniversary of NOT going to the hole. I'm sure he is discouraged, so I really wanted to see him. I scheduled him for this coming week.

Think warm weather!

The weather continues to cause some problems for us. Over the past month since returning, in about 50% of our trips to the prisons we have had to drive slower than normal because of road conditions. A couple times we could not even go! This past Thursday, we were ready to go to one of the studies, when we learned that the Chaplain had not made it to work because of the weather. We were not allowed to have the study.

Another crazy week at the office!

The major event this week was one of the girls telling us: 1. She had a special experience with God while she was in the "hole" (solitary confinement) this past month. She was greatly encouraged and did have a different attitude. She has been with us since the beginning, but has not made many changes in her life. 2. She also had some big questions about sin and adultery. These questions were hard questions for her, and easy answers for us. But we still had to present the answers in a way that was not condemning and letting them know that God loves them but hates the sin. Oh how we need God's mind daily!

God's kingdom grows!

Last week in our Dodge class, we found that nearly all the class of 25 was new, most of those who were with us in Jan. before we came to Tecate had been moved on in the process of evaluation & transferring them to where they would serve their sentence. So we chose to set aside the lesson we had prepared, & used a tract that comes with Vida Abundante to present the Gospel. Praise God, all were really listening intently, & most prayed with us at the close; most for salvation, & the rest for rededication! We were so grateful for having the tracts that they then could take with them to read over again. God uses His Word!

You will love this!

E-W has been with us since we started our study at his prison in May of '06. He is 25 years into a life sentence without parole. He told us that he will die in prison. Along with this, he basically cut himself off from all his family when he entered prison. Soon after the study started, he rededicated his life to the Lord and, PTL, we see growth in him each week. One of the areas we pray for him in, is his family. God is doing some amazing things in his family. Three of his five children have visited him since May. These three had not seen him in 25 years! Then his mother came from Puerto Rico a few months ago. E-W had not seen her in 16 years! It gets better; this past week he saw his 7th grandchild! Although she was his 7th, she was the first grandchild he has seen! He said he sat & held her for all 2 1/2 hours of the visit! He also said it was the best visit he has ever had! Does God do miracles or what?
