 A Year to Remember
Remembering Jesus
Christmas was a time to hear God’s voice as we remembered Luke 1:35, “The holy one to be born shall be called the Son of God”, shared with us by Roy Hormig. God also spoke through these words, “Have you any room for Jesus?” and “Let earth receive her King”, a poem, If you look for Me at Christmas, and the truth that the Bethlehem baby was the only person ever born who could save us from our sins, Jesus.

Remembering the Prisoners
The Lord has been gracious to His work in the prisons! We are privileged to lead Spanish Bible studies and services, bilingual and English services, as well as do discipleship visits. Continuous preparation is challenging, but God and the prisoners give us ideas and we use DVD teachings for variety. Many are responding to the Gospel by trusting Jesus and telling others! It thrills us to see answers to prayer! Volunteers come in with us to share a testimony or a song to encourage inmates. Pray for effective ministry in spite of more restrictions, and for those who have been released to go forward in growing faith--S, J, C, I, and L.

Remembering God’s Blessings
We praise God for His love and using each of you who partner with us. Journaling His blessings has brought us new awareness of our powerful and personal God.
Remembering our Family
Bridget is supervisor over the office administrative assistants for the Elgin Campus Pastor of Harvest Bible Chapel, while Scott continues faithfully at his job. We took a road trip in October to visit Taylor, a freshman at Liberty U. in Lynchburg, VA, then visited friends in NC and OH on the way home. Brandon gained experience in soccer and basketball, and he, Scott and Carl went pheasant hunting together.

Matt worked “after hours” all summer and fall building their three car garage, and remodeling the basement and kitchen. Five weeks without a sink was difficult, but Shawn loves the results! Brady is doing well at the U of WI at Whitewater, Kathy’s alma mater. We cheer Morgan on at volleyball, softball and basketball games.

Our Dr. Sarah is working in the ER at a nearby hospital and teaching an online nursing class. She and Mike purchased a condo in FL near Cape Canaveral for getaways now and a move in the future.

After the excitement and joy of Josh and Amy’s September wedding, they are looking forward to a Hawaiian honeymoon this month. On a very sad note, we are remembering Josh’s friend, Tony Contreras, who lost his life in a recent car accident. Josh, Tony and his brother, Miguel, were close during the 1990’s at Tecate Christian School and their family is very dear to us. Pray for God’s comfort.

Remembering God’s Word
We have chosen 2 Timothy 2:15 as our verse of the New Year 2019--
”Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved...” We commit ourselves afresh to honor Him in every part of our lives and ask you to do so, too.

Thank you to those who remembered us with Christmas cards, gifts and prayers. Keeping in touch with you means so much to us!
Carl and Kathy
In His presence, a scroll of remembrance was written to record the names of those who feared him and always thought about the honor of His name.” Malachi 3:16
