Commentary:
‘Now here is an interesting case. Where because of his love for Ruth, Boaz bought the field in order that he might obtain the bride. His primary interest was not the field at all. He was a very mighty man of wealth. He didn't need any more fields. But he bought the field in order to obtain the bride. In that he becomes a very beautiful picture of Jesus Christ, who bought the world in order that He might purchase His bride, the church, out of the world. Not interested necessarily in the planet earth as such, but interested, and in love with His bride. Jesus purchased the world in order to take His treasure (His bride).’

Wednesday night Bible discussion notes!

Bible Discussion on the Book of Ruth, chapter 3
Let’s read the chapter.

Understanding the kinsmen-redeemer and Jewish customs.

What do Boaz’s actions continue to tell us about who he is?

What do we continue to discover about Naomi’s and Ruth’s relationship?

Compare the teaching of Philippians 2:3-4 with Naomi’s and Ruth’s relationship?

Let’s always remember what God did for us through, and in, Jesus! Compare 1 Peter 1.18-19. Any thoughts?

One pastor has said: "the threshing floor was a refining process that was used to separate the true grain from the chaff. So God allows hard times in our lives to separate the good from the bad in us, in other words, to refine and purify our faith in Him."

What is in your life that God needs to sift & refine?

Is God’s refining process easy?

What do you need to start doing tonight to allow God to do His refining process in your life?
