There could be no Christmas Without Christ!

CHRISTMAS IN PRISON
This season is a real challenge for those who are incarcerated, as they battle loneliness and discouragement. Please join us in praying for each prisoner to feel God’s healing presence and to trust in His promises for 2018. Because of the birth of Jesus, God in the flesh, we are all now offered all we need--

HIS FORGIVENESS for our sin burden,
       HIS STRENGTH for our weariness,
       HIS JOY for our sadness,
       HIS HOPE for our discouragement
HIS PURPOSE for our meaninglessness and
HIS PEACE in the midst of our storms.

Long lay the world in sin and error pining, Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth. A thrill of hope the weary soul rejoices, For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!

Fall on your knees, Oh hear the angel voices, Oh night divine, Oh night when Christ was born, Oh night divine, Oh night, oh night divine.

Truly He taught us to love one another. His law is love and His gospel is peace. Chains shall He break, for the slave is our brother, And in His name all oppression shall cease. Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we, Let all within us praise His holy name. (Placide Cappeau and Adolphe Charles Adams)

OUR FAMILY CHRISTMAS TOGETHER

Our Grandkids--Taylor, Brandon, Brady & Morgan; Our kids--Matt, Sarah, Bridget & Josh

ROAD TRIP!
Thank you for praying for us in September, when we took a 3,000 mile road trip with Randy and Margie Lawler, to the east coast and back, combining ministry and pleasure. We connected with our supporting VA church, Grace Bible, and visited dear friend, Marge, and family. We eventually rendezvoused with eight of our former high school classmates at the New Jersey shore, and then went on to see the sights of Washington D.C., all compliments of Terry
(Steve, Carl, Kathy, Jean, JoAnn & Bruce, Rick, Margie & Randy) Lierman! We made lots of happy memories relaxing, reminiscing and learning about our great country. Thanks Lord, for your protection.

MISSIONARY REUNION   Carl, Kathy, Willa
The Lord allowed us to be part of the planning and participation in People’s Church’s 75th Anniversary celebration in October. It was our sending church when we answered God’s call into full time missionary service in 1990 and He has used their faithful backing ever since then. Willa Edmonds joined the other missionaries in sharing at the “reunion” and was a blessing as she entered Fox Lake and Dodge Correctional Institutions with us for Spanish Bible studies with the men there.

CLOSING CHAPTER
God recently directed the closing of Harvest Hills Community Church,
a local church with a special place in our hearts through their many years of partnering with us, especially these
past four years. We thank God for a place to hear His Word and grow in faith with His faithful servants, Pastor

Scott and Cathy Cernek.
